The unlikable demon hunter - Deborah Wilde (was unfortunately indeed unlikable, at least for me)

Nava Katz #1
Urban Fantasy
described as
"Bridesmaids meets Buffy with a dash of the seven deadly sins."
I was super excited to read this paranormal book
because both the characters and the plot sounded fresh and very entertaining
I thought that the heroine, Nava, her snark and crazy actions would entertain me well
unfortunately just the opposite happened
I was not amused by her actions
I quickly lost interested in what was going on
because pretty much everything about Nava didn't appeal to me
and I couldn't imagine her or the world the book is set in as real
the story is supposed to be sexy
but the sex scenes at the beginning just seemed way too desperate und unrewarding
for me to enjoy reading about them
and I don't need to be able to relate to everything a main character does and says
but some common ground is nice
which was missing in this story
so no, this was unfortunately not a good book for me
but I think that readers who have more fun with Nava
who enjoy the humour
(read an excerpt!!!)
could like this wild ride of a story.

  1. Oh no! Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy this one, Sabrina. I definitely know what you mean about Nava's unlikeable personality traits, especially at the beginning of the book, but she really grew on me. Hopefully your next read will work better for you!

    1. Thanks! I'm still happy that I gave the book a chance.

      Happy Reading!

  2. See, I'm excited for this book after reading about it on Danya's blog. It sounded really cool and a little bit funny too so it sucks you didn't enjoy it. I'll give it ago and see what I think but at least I know to be a little bit wary.

    1. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the book will work for you!
