5 Books I'd Save From A Fire (Top 5 Wednesday)

This week I'm participating for the first time in the so called Top 5 Wednesday series, I discovered this weeks topic on the Youtube channel Michelle Fluttering Butterflies. This weeks topic is one that I have actually thought about several times in the past, because the fear that a fire might destroy my home, is one of my few big fears. I don't know why, I had never any bad experiences with fire and still I don't like it.

Should there ever be a fire in my home I have a master plan, it's not a perfect one, but at least I have a plan. At first I would make sure that our four cats and our dog get to a safe place, then I would grab my phone, Mac, wallet and a box full of important papers. If I then should have some more time I would run to my book room, open a window and start throwing my books through it, that way I might manage to save at least a few of my books. But let's be realistic, in times of danger I would make sure that the animals get out safe and then I would run, but at least I have a plan and that relaxes me a bit.

But let's get back to the 5 books I'd save from a fire list. The first thing I would grab is not a book, it's my purple box with all my bookmarks in it. Then I would take my Nora Roberts bobblehead, she is my queen, the booblehead is signed, so this is a no brainer. And then I would finally pick some books, first two books I loved reading when I was younger, the first one is Madita by Astrid Lindgren (German translation), the second is Das dicke Einhorn by Roswitha Schlegl (German book). And then I would pick a series (I'm shameless and counting it as one :)), a series that would lift my mood after a fire, that is about love and friendship, it's the Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts (Vision in White, Bed of Roses, Savour the Moment, Happy Ever After).

Which five books or five bookish items would you save?

  1. Saving bookmarks, yes, perhaps I would do that as well. As I stated on another blog lately, I would perish in the fire myself before I could decide which books to grab. After all, they can be replaced. I also love that Nora Roberts series! And the Inn Boonsboro series is great as well.
If you want me to choose, Bertrice Small - Skye O'Malley series, Anne McCaffrey - Pern dragonriders series, Anne Bishop books, Robin D. Owens and Laurell K. Hamilton books. Of course, I could never carry all those books.

    1. Lol, you would definitely need something to transport all of the books, problems of a reader I guess.
