Siege and Storm - Leigh Bardugo

#2 in the Grisha trilogy
young adult fantasy
I enjoyed the first book
waited for a long time until I went on with the series
I listened to the audio book
the narrator was good
the story itself bored me beginning to end
the world building was still good, not great
but the characters frustrated me
there was no chemistry between the couple
more like brother and sister
than being in love
the bad guy didn't interest me
nobody did
Leigh Bardugo couldn't make her characters work for me
I will not read #3 in the series

  1. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy this one! You're making me worried now. I liked the first, so I bought the second and third. Hopefully I'll enjoy them a bit more than you did!

    1. I'm sure that the books will work for you, I know that many others loved the whole trilogy. I had some general issues with fantasy YA books in the last years, so it wasn't that surprising that the books fell flat for me.

      Happy Reading!

  2. Characters you can't relate to, will always spoil a good story. Sorry this did not work out for you Sabrina, but good solution, just quit the series.

    1. I know some readers who don't mind reading about characters they don't like, for me it never works.
