As a reader of About Happy Books you will already know that I have enjoyed reading the first two books in the Magic Most Foul series a whole lot. The series combines paranormal aspects, a gothic feeling, a historical setting and fascinating characters, it's a series I would recommend to every reader.

Magic Most Foul fans! You don't have to wait until November to get your fix on the next Gothic, Victorian, fantastical and paranormal adventures of Lord Denbury and Natalie Stewart! You can start NEXT MONTH! March 5th I am embarking on a new venture that is a very old venture indeed: serialization. Most Victorian era novelists serialized their fiction at some point into small pieces released in a number of weeks and months in various 19th century magazines. Charles Dickens' "Household Words" was home to many a famous story and novel serializing from one issue to the next. So what better to honour my Victorian tales but to serialize one?
Beginning next month, THE DOUBLE LIFE OF INCORPORATE THINGS, A Finale of Magic Most Foul will begin its first segment right here! For free! The goal is to have all segments released by November when the novel will then be available for sale in print and across digital platforms.

I don't think I will become a fan of serial books. If I start reading a book, and I like it, I want to finish it as well, and not read just a few chapters every month.
ReplyDeleteI'm normally the same and still I'm excited about this new way to publish a book. And as long as I can buy the whole novel at the end of it everything is ok. :)
DeleteWhat is with the new serialization movement. I am definitely one to read it all at once. I hate the long wait at one book a year. But I suppose you just get used to what you have. If it turns into a normal thing we will just adjust. I guess books will then be more like television series. A small snippet here and there. But on another note I really need to read the second book in this trilogy.
ReplyDeleteYes, you really need to. :)
