I have to confess something: My wish list has grown to over 300 books. I try to keep it as small as possible, but I'm powerless against the temptation of good sounding and looking books. I need to win in the lottery or marry a millionaire to get all the books I want. :) At least it's good to know that I'm not alone with the exploding wish list syndrome, I know that many other readers share my fate.
How big is your wish list?

I have 100 books on my goodreads wish list, but I know I'm forgetting some ;P
ReplyDeleteJust imagine someone would send you all the books at once. That would be heaven and hell at the same time. :)
DeleteIts so true :-))))
ReplyDeleteSilke
But sadly it will stay a dream.
DeleteI've different wishlists - one for each genre and then one (or actually two) for the new releases this year and the next. All in all there are approximately 200-250 books on my wishlists. And I wouldn't mind a millionaire too ;)
ReplyDeleteI have four different wish lists four my books. The normal wish lists, one for books that haven't been released yet, one I call "book extras" and one for books by Betty Neels. Good to know that I'm not the only one with multiple wish lists. :)
DeleteSo I'am! :D Have up to 200 books on my wishlist on amazone. I need more money and time to read all the books I want to read! Yearly I sort of the wishlist and say to me: "Do you need this really?" It's a addiction ;)
ReplyDeleteIt really is! But it's an addiction we like.
DeleteMy wishlist is shockingly small, at least so I have been told. So I started adding a few books but I don't think it's more then maybe a dozen books? I kid you not. Then of course my actual TBR piles are humongous ...
ReplyDeleteLol, for me it's the other way. My TBR pile is ok, but my wish list is huge.
DeleteI have a few in amazon and a few in booklikes and on goodreads. I'm terrible at adding new books I see on the net or what friends suggest to me. I cringe to think how many great books have slipped by me because I forgot to add them to my list.
ReplyDeleteI hope someone gifts you a generous helping of those 300 books this Christmas :D
I would love that, but I fear it will not happen.
DeleteYeah...I am so with you there!
ReplyDeleteI knew that you would understand me.
DeleteOver 300 books?! That's quite a lot! Something about 3.000€ perhaps or even more, if there are a lot of hardcovers on your wishlist.
ReplyDeleteReading over 300 books, for me it will last something about 6 years! :D :D
love,
Silva
I try not to think about how much money I spend on books or about how much the books cost that I still want. That would just spoil things.
DeleteI can read over 300 books in a year, so it's not that much. :)
Wow 300 books in waiting!!! I'm more of a buy one book read it and go get another... the only time I have a waiting list is if I decide to buy a whole series in one go... forget flowers give me a book way more romantic!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy sis is the same as you. she has no real wish list and no TBR pile.
DeleteAnd dito on the flowers, I prefer books every time. :)
On my GR wishlist are about 150 books and on Amazon about 250 - but I think most of the GR ones are also in my Amazon list. So I'll have to check the 100 on top (a few could be the german and englisch version of one book but the rest?).
ReplyDeleteBtw I have a another booklist for my little girl (a 2 year old toddler and she likes to be read to *yeah*).
For me it should be a sudden legacy to buy more books - I'm really happy with my husband (who gave me an e-reader as last year's birthday gift;)
It's so cute that your little girl already likes books and that you have a wish list for her. My niece and nephew (5 and 2) also like to be read to and they like to look through books, it's always a beautiful sight when they sit down with a book.
DeleteI have to admit that my Goodreads wishlist is quite long... over 600 if I'm correct. But, I tend to put on there all kinds of books; those I really really need to read, as well as those that intrigue me and that I want to investigate further (by reading more reviews, reading a few pages of it, etc.) I have a smaller list I keep in a file, of the things I want most, and it has a little less than a 100.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind getting the 600 of them though :P
I recently created a "to investigate" shelf to distinguish between the books I want and those I'm curious about, and I think your post has inspired me to clean up my wishlist a little! Thanks! :)
DeleteI have something similar to your system. I have a normal wish list with the books I really want, and one called book extras with special versions of books and books I maybe want.
Delete600 books is an impressive number. :)
couldn't agree more with you, Sabrina. I have often fantasized about a guy surprising me like that... I can't even begin to count the books on my wishlist, I would be terrified if i did... please let me know if ever you find a guy willing to take on your wishlist, and please keep an eye out for me ;)
ReplyDeleteWill do. :)
