Hi and welcome to the last day in the In Death discussion week, today is all about Summerset, the good soul of Roarke and Eve's home.

  1. Summerset and Eve's relationship is so much fun. I'm getting a real kick out of their constant bickering, but at the same time I love how you can see that they slowly start to care. Even if they're not entirely happy about it. ;] Especially the scenes in "Delusion" were actually a bit touching.
    But my highlight is his relationship with Roarke. His almost fatherly connection to him is heart-warming and I think it's obvious how deeply they care for each other. The fact that Summerset can see how good Eve is for Roarke and accepts her, even though he couldn't stand her in the beginning, shows that he truly understands and loves his surogate son/employer (I have to say that's an interesting combination now that I'm thinking about it).

    In the beginning of the series I wasn't sure about Summerset. I kind of agreed with Eve about him being too stuck-up and stiff. But once we started to find out more about him, his past and his connection to Roarke he began to really grow on me. Now I just can't imagine this series without him.

    1. I feel the same about Summerset, at first he seems a bit stuck up, but now I adore him. I think he cares more and more about Eve, she has brought new light both to Roarke and Summerset's life.

    2. I totally agree with you Schenni, I love their bickering, and how he quietly takes care of them both. And the cat. And I do hope he will find a new lady friend ...

  3. Der Butler wäre schon super, aber was würde ich erst für diesen Automaten geben, der das von mir gewünschte Essen ausspuckt?! :D
