One of my favorite scenes is in Vengeance (I THINK that is the right book) in Death when Eve's car blows up, Roarke hears it over the 'link and rushes to the scene, sees her car, and spends a few horrible seconds thinking she is dead before hearing her voice.
ReplyDeleteI also love that scene, it's so dramatic and full of emotions. It's hard to just choose a few scenes with Eve & Roarke, there are so many great ones.
DeleteWhat do I love about their relationship? I just love how much they trust each other. They are two extremely strong individuals, but they aren't afraid to depend and lean on each other. Although Eve (and Roarke as well) had a few start-up difficulties ;] I'm also a big fan of their conversations - funny, sweet, hot, or even while fighting - they are just incredible. And yes, I loved them from the beginning. Eve lived for her job, but at the same time she just couldn't stay away from him. Talk about romantic and hot!
ReplyDeleteThe car bomb scene is actually one of my favorite scenes as well! Another great scene is when Eve says "I love you" for the first time without Roarke saying it first. Sigh.
But I think I can actually choose one scene as my favorite and that's when Roarke goes to Ireland to meet his/his mother's family in "Portrait in Death" and Eve follows him. His reaction when he sees/hears her coming in the helicopter was so touching I was crying like a baby! I adore that scene! :D
There's just one last thing to add. Button <3
I agree on everything you said, their love for each other and their trust in each other is so beautiful and heart-warming.
DeleteIts time to answer my own questions. :)
ReplyDeleteI know that asking to pick only a few favourite scenes with Eve & Roarke was a bit mean, there are so many amazing ones!
I think I could find a fav scene in every single book of the series, every book has to offer great moments between Eve & Roarke.
I love their love for each other, it knows no limits. I also love that they are there for each other, that they know what is important. They are a true team and together can achieve pretty much everything. I could go on and on with this.
One of my favourite scenes is when Eve surprises Roarke with the park she had built in honour of his mom, that was such a wonderful idea. I think this happened in Indulgence in Death. Of course I'm also a fan of the light moments between them, when they are at home with Galahad and just enjoy being together.
You're right, I also love their home moments. Seeing them relaxed and with their guards down is always enjoyable. And I'm still waiting for another scene where Roarke actually sleeps longer than Eve. I think that happened only once and it was a great! :] How can a person survive on so few hours of sleep anyway?
DeleteAnother scene like that would be amazing.
DeletePicking out a few scenes is an impossibility for me. But I really like it how Roarke understands Eve. How they can spar and fight together, and how he can back her up. He knows her job is important and stays behind and beside her all the way. At first she doesn't want him to be her consultant, civilian, but she comes to rely on him more and more.
ReplyDeleteHow he soothes her after the nightmares, how his heart bleeds for her. And of course that goes both ways, she is afraid of flying but still goes off planet with him to the Olympus resort. Their whole dynamic is give and take and I love it. How Eve has no idea of the dynamics of friendship and gifts and learns it bit by bit.
How about that scene when Mavis was giving birth, and they both had to be there? And they both were terrified of it all?
That is one great scene, I loved that Roarke was just as scared as Eve. :)
