How was your bookish week?

In the last seven days I managed to read a lot of books, some of them were even good (for example Lightbringer by KD McEntire), but once again I didn't read a book that was so great that I wanted to do a book impression post on it. But I'm getting used to it, I'm getting used to week after week with mostly just ok books. Of course I'm still hopeful that the next book I pick up will be a great one, a book so fantastic that I will be amazed by it. And I'm sure that some of the books in my TBR pile belong to this category, so I will read on. In the next days I plan to mix reading new to me books with some of my favourite books. I already started with rereading some books from the In Death series by J.D. Robb, these books are always a great choice.

Other than reading I fought a bit with stickers on books. This week nearly every book I got had one of those annoying stickers on it (lots of books = tons of stickers!). Every time I remove a sticker I start to sing "Another one bites the dust" by Queen, I guess that shows how much I hate stickers and how much I love Queen. :)

All of these stickers had to die :)
And I decided to order some books by new to me authors. I love trying out authors whose books I haven't read before and this week books by Lexxie Couper (erotic romance) and Richard Harland (Steampunk YA) interested me enough to give them a try.

I'm also thinking about which books to buy in May, I think this time it will be a smaller list because April has been so book crazy. Ok, I think I have already five books for May preordered, but other than that I'm not sure what to buy.

How was your bookish week?

  1. I'm still trying to decide what books to order from the Book Depository using the 10% discount coupon. Good thing we have over a month to pick what we want. :P

    1. So true, the one month time is really nice. I think I might preorder some books for May, June and maybe even July with the 10% off. Because preorders have always the best price on TBD, after (around) the pub date the price often rises.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  2. My bookish week was great. Got a lot of new books, exchanged books, bought books, pre-ordered books and read at least three books. :)
And now I am finally reading a Nora Roberts book again. :3 I also think there will be more books to come in the next week.
Ah! The sticker thing...I should have taken a foto of all the stickers I removed. ;) I just can't stand them either!!!!

Have a great new week hopefully with a lot great books!

    1. You really had a great week. it's always so good to see that you get so many books every week, that makes me feel better. :)

Hope you will enjoy the Nora Roberts book, I think it should be a good read for fans of cozy mysteries. Btw, I just saw on facebook that some people try to sell the books they got for the Welttag des Buches, that's so not ok. :(

    2. *lol* I can say the same to you!!!!! :)

I really do! I just love her books they always make me feel good.
WTF?! I don't get such people...why selling books they shall give away as gifts. I don't get why people are so stupid...

    3. I know, it's so bad to sell such a great gift. I guess some people only took part in it to sell the books later. Things like that make me so mad.

    4. Me too!!! I mean: because of such people there aren't not many such chances and events...:/ Such people always bring shadows over such events.

    5. I guess there will always be some a..holes who try to use such events to gain something. Sad but true.

  3. Stickers are the devil! Used books with stickers, well those you just have to suck it up and take but shiny, brand new hardcovers should NEVER have stickers on them. I'm glad you too fight the stickers. May we win this war.

My bookish week was rather calm. I started the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews and I'm quite happy with the idea of spending next week visiting with the next few books in the series.

    1. Yay, let's fight together against the evil stickers. And I agree, used books that come with stickers are ok. But I don't want them on my brand new copies.

Have fun reading the Kate Daniels series, it's one of my favourites from the UF genre.

      Happy Reading!

  4. For me it was a strange reading week - I started reading three books but haven't finished one of them... I hope to change that today though.

And I already made my preorders till August *g* I couldn't resist.
Hope you have a great day :)

    1. Wow, so far I have only preordered until May, but it's smart to preorder now for the next months, because now the prices (especially at TBD) are really low. So you are definitely smarter than I am. :)

Have a great new week and I hope that you will manage to finish all the books you started.

  5. I'm still thinking about the 10% discount at the book depository. It's a great opportunity to buy books, but I think my to-be-read shelf won't be happy hehe.

Anyway, I also hate stickers on books! >.<

    1. Lol, my TBR shelf will also not be happy, but I just can't say no. :)

I think most readers hate stickers, but still they are everywhere.

      Have a great new week!

  6. I've been reading a lot of just "ok" books lately too. I'm working on the third book in the Harry Potter series and so far I don't get all the hype (I'm hoping the series gets better as I progress). Now that I know about this 10% off at TBD I think I'm going to have to do some book shopping!

I hate the stickers too but I'm to lazy to peel them off. :)

    1. I read all books in the Harry Potter series and liked them, but I'm not in love with the books like so many other readers are. So I totally understand your feelings.

I hope that we both will soon read some great books.
Have a great week and happy reading.
