I have a lot of favorite authors and many of them make me act like a fangirl ( = a person who has a compulsive dedication to for example an author). And I don't think that it's a bad thing. Showing your enthusiasm for something you like is great.
One author that always manages to make me act like a fangirl is Nora Roberts. But I also love Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Linda Howard, Maya Banks, Lucy Monroe, Kate Angell and many more.
Next year SEP is coming on a booktour to Germany and you can bet that I will be extremly excited and will smile the whole time during the event. I will try not to scream like a fangirl, but who knows :)
Which author makes you act like a fangirl?

I absolutely love Nora Roberts as well. I'm so excited for Parker's book. The other authors I collect books from are Lisa Kleypas and Eloisa James. I'm also a little obsessed with Anna Godbersen. The Luxe series was like early 20th century Gossip Girl. Can't wait for Bright Young Things. So jealous of everyone who has already received a copy.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh...many...particularly anything by J.K. Rowling, Simone Elkeles, Rick Riordan, and Brian Jacques :)
ReplyDeleteOh there are so many! Let's see... Maya Banks, Christine Feehan, Linda Howard, Linda Lael Miller, Shayla Black, Susan Mallery, Kristan Higgins, Victoria Dahl, Carol Lynne ...And this is just a few. :)

What a wonderful question - I just had to answer :) http://www.book-crazy.com/2010/09/fangirl-me.html
ReplyDeleteI like the question and to answer it, I've got a few authors who really trigger my inner fangirl ;) Kresley Cole, Joey W Hill, Nalini Singh, C.L. Wilson, Anne Bishop. Just to name a few *grin*
ReplyDeleteWell, with my blog name intact, I'm sort of required to comment on this, haha.
ReplyDeleteFor me though....RACHEL CAINE! Ahhh, I just love the Morganville Vampires series. It has my type of sarcasm, my types of crazy characters, the whole package.
Man I couldn't just name one if I tried! Let's just go back to the ones I have been reading forever and tried not to totally go fangirl on at RomCon: Christine Feehan and Hannah Howell
ReplyDeleteFor me its a range of different genres but Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Shelly Laurenston (paranormal), Cherise Sinclair (for something a bit darker). Those are just some of my auto-buy authors.
ReplyDeleteRichelle Mead (VA series)
ReplyDeleteand Elizabeth Isaacs (light of asteria)

Over the summer I read all four of the twilight books. I swear I acted like a 12 year old until I finished them all. my poor children and husband were neglected for a few weeks. :)
ReplyDeleteI just had a fan girl moment at AAD with Jennifer Armintrout. She was so awesome. I am still reeling.
ReplyDeleteOoo great question!
ReplyDeleteJanette Rallison and Stephenie Meyer
Big fangirl of Larissa Ione and her Demonica series, longtime fangirl for over 20 years reading the works of Nora Roberts, Christine Feehan and Fern Michaels to name a few...
ReplyDeleteI am finding new authors nowadays that are going in this category too thanks to book blogger sites and wonderful book recommendations!
jackie ^_^
Patricia Briggs, definitely. Some others would be Seanan McGuire, Ann Aguirre, Rachel Caine, Ilona Andrews, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Karen Marie Moning for me :D Seriously, I'd do just about anything to read Shadowfever before the 18th of freaking January! :o
ReplyDeleteHey Tasha,
ReplyDeleteyou mentioned Victoria Dahl - I sat at an awards dinner (RWA Orlando - July 2010) at the same table as she did. She seems very nice, and totally normal and approachable.
Tina Folsom
Romance Author
P.S. I personally would go all gaga over Kresley Cole (who sat three tables away from me)
i have always like to think of myself as calm around celebrities if i were to meet them, because in reality they are just people...
ReplyDeletebut i will definitely go fangrrly all over Jeaniene Frost...i profess my love for publicly and quite loudly hehe.
i would either faint, wee or die of happiness if i ever met her
