What is your favourite genre?

I like to read romances (contemporary, historical, paranormal, erotic, romantic suspense), chick-lit, young adult and some Urban Fantasy and Steampunk. I like my books mostly light-hearted and only from time to time read darker books.

If I had to choose just one genre then it would be romance because I just adore reading about a sweet and great love story. I also like that the romance genre is so multi-faceted, there's something for every taste and mood.

What is your favourite genre and why?

  1. Mine is young-adult, but more specifically, contemporary/teen issue/drama type-- such as IF I STAY, BEFORE I FALL, THE SKY IS EVERYWHERE, TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY... I also like dystopian (UGLIES, probably Mathed & Delirium once I get around to reading them)

  4. It is so hard for me to choose one genre. I love... well, everything. I can tell you what I don't read much of which is non-fiction or mystery/thrillers. Everything else from romance to horror I enjoy.

  9. I think I'd have to go with romance too. It's my first love and while I'm on a serious YA reading binge right now, romance is where I'll always go back to. Like you, I love that the romance genre is so multi-faceted. There's something to love for every single one of your moods.

  11. My favorites are: historical fantasy, fairy tale retellings and historical romance. (YA too). My love for historical fantasy and fairy tale retellings it's because my favorite author writes in those genres. The historical romance, well...it's the steamy romance :D

  15. I am not a big romance fan. I would have to say mine would be women's fiction/dramas. I love books that explore relationships and what makes people tick.....

  16. I agree with you, YA I just do not read (more) quite so much. I Like to read Fantasy (Urban, Epic, Sword&Sorcery). Sophisticated Novels are very important to me, no matter what Genre.

  17. I guess mine would be Fantasy. While I sometimes read other genres, I find I prefer a mix of the "unexplained" in the stories I read.
