Favourite books of the week - What are yours?

The first week in September is over and I just started planning my trip to the Frankfurt Book Fair. My plan is to stop by at all the US/UK publishers that interest me. Will post about my plans in the next days.

This week I read 10 (a lot of them are shorter books by Harlequin) books. My favourites are the following two books and I not only enjoyed both books a lot furthermore their covers are beautiful and brilliant.

Sprinkled with Murder by Jenn McKinlay
published March 2010
#1 in the Cupcake Bakery Mystery series

read my review here

The book is just as delicious and cute as it's cover. I will definitely read the next book in the Cupcake Bakery Mystery series.

BTW, the cupcake recipes in the back of the book work great even when you change the incredients so that the cupcakes and the cream are vegan.

Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler
published November 2009
#1 in the Jane True series

A fantastic and unique book full of extraordinary characters and a complex, magical world. A great start into the Jane True series and will definitely continue with the books by Nicole Peeler.

What are your favourite books of the week?

Read Indiscreet by Carolyn Jewel and loved it. It's a very different historical romance - for once it doesn't take place in London, but mostly in Turkey. Quite an adventure.

I read two urban fantasies this week that I loved, Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep and Stormwalker by Allyson James. Definitely going to pick up the next Estep one (and the third comes out at the end of Sept - yay). Unfortunately I'll have to wait for November for the next Allyson James book.

I read Samson's Lovely Mortal a few weeks ago (as well as the next book, Amaury's Hellion) and enjoyed them both.
