This week I only read two books (shame on me) and I enjoyed both of them a lot. I started working the nightshift in my summer job and this is limiting the time I have to read (hate the nightshift but love the extra money!).
Next week I hope to read some more books. I'm expecting two very special books so it could be a great week.
So this week I read and enjoyed
Insatiable
by Lauren Dane
published July, 2010
#3 in the Federation Chronicles series/ #1 on the Phantom Corps series
my review is coming later today
Witty dialogues, strong chracters, a lot of sexy and sensual scenes and a fascinating universe make this book into a great experience.
synopsis
Desire is the most dangerous sensation of all.
With tensions between the Federation and Imperial 'Verses rising, one woman may hold the key to victory. The dangerous mission to smuggle her out of Imperial Territory falls to Daniel Haws and his team, the ultra secret Phantom Corps. This elite squad of the Federation Military is the only one trusted and skilled enough to remove her from under the watchful eye of her father, the Supreme Commander of the Imperial 'Verses.
Carina is used to wearing a mask. Her father and his men think her little more than a pretty prize to be won by a man more ruthless than the rest. When he announces his intention to marry her to one of his henchmen, a man known for his cruelty, Carina knows she has to move as soon as possible to get out. But getting secret information to the Federation has served her well for years and she appeals to them for help.
She expected rescue from a man who'd been her enemy. But she wasn't prepared for just how intense her attraction to Daniel Haws would be. Born as adversaries into different ranks, and on the run for their lives, they now need each other to survive-by holding on to the only thing they have in common: a growing desire that is dangerous, irresistible, and insatiable...

#1 in the Accidental Friends series
This book is just as funny and witty as the cover promises it to be. It was a true pleasure to read how the heroine handles being a new werewolf.
synopsis
When Marty Andrews gets bitten by a mangy mutt while walking her teacup poodle, her blond hair darkens, the hair on her legs starts growing at an alarming rate, and her mood swings put her dream job as a sales rep for Bobbie-Sue Cosmetics in serious jeopardy.
Then a drool-worthy man shows up at her door claiming that he accidentally bit Marty. And since he's a werewolf, she is now, too. Thinking Keegan Flaherty is clearly insane, Marty refuses to believe a word until a kidnapping makes her realize there's more at stake than just her highlights. And she must put her out-of-control life in the hands of the man who makes her blood run wild in more ways than one...
What are your favourite books of the week?

I'll add Dakota Cassidy's series on my list! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI must say. I am a big fan of the cover for Insatiable! :P
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with The Accidental Werewolf---So fun :)
ReplyDeleteI think Insatiable is going on my list!
Sounds like fun. I enjoy the paranormal genre, but so much is very dark. It can be serious but humorous at the same time. I will have to look for more of Dakota Cassidy's books.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book this week was Jennifer Crusie's Manhunting.
ReplyDeleteI think I said it before I really want to read The Accidental Werewolf!
Glad you enjoyed your books. My fav this week is Sense and Sensibility which I'm re-reading for the Everything Austen II challenge.
